Sustainability
It's not a greenwashed buzzword for us — sustainability is a guiding principle in everything we do at Aiden Jae. From the jewelry we craft to the packaging we use and how we ship, we strive not just to minimize our impact on the planet, but to drive positive change through our actions.
Sustainability is a journey, and we are committed to transparency as we continue to grow and evolve. We'll be sure to update you along the way. For now, here's how we're currently taking action to reduce our environmental footprint and make a meaningful difference...
Carbon neutral, & then some...
Our climate commitment:
We clean up after ourselves.
Ecommerce deliveries have a carbon footprint. That's why Aiden Jae supports cutting-edge companies that remove carbon from the air by participating in the Shopify Planet program at the maximum contribution level available, for the greatest impact. We actually aim to go beyond being carbon neutral, towards being carbon negative. This means not just offsetting our shipments and all activities to net-zero, but making additional contributions to reduce carbon overall.
Together, businesses participating in the Shopify Planet program have…
- Removed more than thousands of tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere
- Provided carbon-neutral shipping for more than millions of orders
Here's how it works: For every order we receive, Shopify Planet uses a formula to calculate the estimated shipping emissions. Based on those estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to carbon removal companies that have been vetted by scientists from Carbon Direct. Those companies use that money to remove however much carbon our shipments created. Any extra funds go toward the further development of carbon removal technologies. And when you protect your order through Corso, it's offset even more! Hello, carbon negative!
Let's meet a few of the companies removing carbon from the sky...
Heirloom
Heirloom's direct air capture technology enhances the carbon mineralization process. Heirloom's technology speeds up the rate at which naturally occurring minerals capture CO₂ rather than using energy-intensive fans to draw air in.
Remora
Remora captures CO₂ from semi-truck tailpipes as they drive, with the CO₂ destined for long-term storage.
Charm
Charm captures CO₂ using plant waste, converts it into a stable, carbon-rich liquid, and safely stores it deep underground—out of reach of wildfires and soil erosion.
